Buckheads Win Inaugural State Championship

In their third season in the Pittsburgh Harlequin High School Rugby League, the Burrell Buckheads travelled to Philadelphia to earn top hardware in the State's first Championship. After defeating the home team Bishop Shanahan in the semi-final, the Buckheads went on to beat Arch Bishop Bonner in a back and forth battle for the coveted state championship.

Ron Zanella, head coach, had his team in top physical condition and was able to put up an undefeated 2010 spring season. Family, friends, and players are already looking forward to defending their title in 2011.
